Brigid's Flame Healing Arts
Massage & Bodywork
From a gentle, restorative Swedish to a no-mercy deep tissue — every session is customized to your body, your goals, and how you feel that day.
What We Offer
Massage Styles
Swedish / Relaxation Massage
For: stress relief, general wellness, first-time massage clients
Long, flowing strokes designed to calm the nervous system, ease muscle tension, and leave you deeply relaxed. If you've never had a massage before, or just need to slow down and breathe, this is your session. Pressure is customized to your preference — never too light to be effective, never more than you want.
Deep Tissue Massage
For: chronic tension, knots, postural patterns, high-demand lifestyles
Targeted work on deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. This is not a painful experience — it is intentional, deliberate pressure applied where your body is holding. Ideal for women who carry stress in their neck and shoulders, athletes with persistent tightness, or anyone who has said 'I need someone to really work on me.'
Sports Massage
For: active women, athletes, pre- and post-competition recovery
Designed around the demands of athletic training. Sports massage addresses overuse patterns, tight muscle groups, and recovery needs specific to active women. Whether you're preparing for competition or recovering from a hard training block, sessions are structured around your schedule and your sport.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
For: post-surgical recovery, lymphedema, inflammation, immune support, chronic fatigue
This is clinical, Vodder-technique MLD — not the aggressive abdominal pressing that went viral on social media. Vodder MLD uses precise, feather-light rhythmic strokes to stimulate the lymphatic system, reduce fluid retention, support immune function, and accelerate post-surgical healing. The pressure is intentionally gentle — the lymphatic vessels sit just beneath the skin and respond to light touch, not deep pressure. Effective for post-op swelling, lipedema, chronic inflammation, and women managing lymphedema. We are happy to coordinate directly with your primary care physician to support pre- and post-surgical MLD protocols.
Session Enhancements
What We May Add to Your Session
Depending on your needs and what best serves the work, your session may incorporate any of the following. We'll talk through it with you before we begin.
Hot Stones
Heated basalt stones used alongside hands-on massage to warm tissue at a deeper level than manual pressure alone. The heat signals safety to the nervous system — muscles release more fully, and relaxation goes deeper.
Cupping Therapy
Silicone or traditional cups create negative pressure to lift and separate tissue, increase circulation, and release stubborn fascial restrictions. Often leaves temporary marks — a sign of stagnation moving out of the body.
Gua Sha / Instrument-Assisted Scraping
A smooth tool is used to apply pressure along muscle fibers to break up adhesions and improve tissue mobility. Particularly effective for chronic neck, shoulder, and IT band tension.
Hot Towels
Warm, moist towels applied to target areas before and during the session to soften tissue, improve circulation, and prepare the body for deeper work.
Aromatherapy
Therapeutic-grade essential oils blended into your session based on your needs — calming, grounding, energizing, or pain-relieving. You choose, or we suggest based on what your body needs that day.
Infrared (IR) Light Therapy
Near-infrared light penetrates deep into tissue to increase circulation, reduce inflammation, and accelerate cellular repair. Particularly effective before or after massage to warm tissue, support recovery, and enhance the depth of the work.
Cold Therapy
Targeted cold application to reduce acute inflammation, calm the nervous system, and support recovery. Used strategically alongside heat or massage to move fluid, reduce swelling, and leave tissue feeling restored.
Everyone Is Welcome
